Kasey Meadow Park Renovations to finish Spring 2017

Residents will enjoy some new improvements to Kasey Meadow Park this spring.  In 2014,

the Hickory Hills Park District was awarded an OSLAD grant for Kasey Meadow Park however the project came to a halt when the Governor announced all grants were suspended in March 2015. The playground and splash pad equipment had to be stored for one year.  Then,  in the summer of 2016, the grant suspension was lifted and the project started where it left off. Now, the community will be able to enjoy a new splash pad, playgrounds, a walking trail and an outdoor fitness station.  The project was very near completion in the fall 2016 but some work will have to continue once the weather breaks in the spring. The following are details of each amenity that has been added to the park:

Splash Pad – Cascade Water Table with Spill Basins, Bloom Flowers, Dump Buckets, Water Canons, Snail, Turtle and Fish sprayers.

Tot 2-5 Year Old Playground –Accessible Merry Go Round , 2 Bay 4 Seat Tot Swing Set, Mogul Slide, Chunky Trekker Pods and Bongo Perch, Crawl Thru Panel, Wall with Steering Wheel,  Side by Side Slide, Tot Rock Climber, Vertical Later and How Tall RU Panel.

Tower 5-12 Playground – 2 Bay 4 Belt Swing Set, Jax Pack 3, Interaxion Alpha Net Climber, Curved Loop Climber, Canyon Climber, Bongo Steps, Ladder, Arch Bridge, Ravine Swoop, Orbit Climber, Bump & Glide Slide, Crunch Station, Tree Climber, Funnel Tunnel Slide, Cyclone and Typhoon Slides and some much needed shade for parents to relax while the children enjoy the park.

Walking Trail –  The 3/8 mile ADA Accessible Pathway  will loop through the park, by the side of ball field #1 to the outdoor fitness station, and then to ball field #2 and then up a slight hill to the skate park and splash pad and up to the playgrounds or to the Cynthia Neal Recreation  Center.

Brick Wall Seating – Seating at both ball fields and overlooking the skate park.

Outdoor Fitness Station – Includes a 4 Person Pendulum Abs & Dip Station, 2 Person Air Walker, 2 Person Cross Country Ski, Lat Pull Down & Vertical Press and a Rowing Machine.

The entire project is estimated at $905,000and the OSLAD grant is for $390,000. We hope you have a change to stop by this spring and enjoy the new amenities added to Kasey Meadow Park.
